“I shall die here. Every inch of me shall perish, every inch but one. An inch, it is small and it is fragile, and it is the only thing in the world worth having. We must never lose it or give it away; we must never let them take it from us. I hope that whoever you are, you escape this place. I hope that the world turns and that things get better. But what I hope most of all is that you understand what I mean when I tell you that even though I do not know you, and even though I may never meet you, laugh with you, cry with you, or kiss you, I love you. With all my heart, I love you.”

I love you, Pittsburgh. 😔🖤💛🖤And I love @shopsteelcity for selling this tee in order to raise money and support the Tree of Life Synagogue, as well as honor the endless strength and community of this wonderful, diverse, loving city.
This simple yet beautiful T-shirt (designed by the incredibly talented Chris Preksta) makes me feel like I’m hugging each and every soul that has suffered at the hands of prejudice and hatred. My heart breaks for what this world has become, and for everyone we have lost. 💔
Please be aware of the choices you make, and think about how they will impact the lives of others. This is beyond politics. This is beyond religion. This is beyond you and me. We cannot be complacent in the face of such vulgar hatred. It’s so easy to look the other way, to say “it can’t happen to me,” and to continue on with your life as if nothing has changed; but if you’re even the tiniest bit human, you know deep down there has been a dangerous shift. An unsettling disturbance. And if you care even the slightest (which, for all our sakes, I hope you do), you will do whatever is in your power to prevent these acts from becoming more prominent.
You may not be able to kill their ideas of hatred and violence and oppression and bigotry, but that means they can’t kill our ideas of love, diversity, inclusiveness, kindness, strength, bravery, freedom, peace, and JUSTICE. Love will ALWAYS win.
P.S. This T-shirt fundraiser for the Tree of Life Synagogue ends TOMORROW (11/6/18) at NOON– if you want this beautiful (and comfortable) shirt to support the souls affected by this tragedy, you can find the purchasing details here. 🖤
I love you, Pittsburgh. 🖤💛
